The first weekend in March I spent in Springfield at the state horsefair photographing the Heart of IL Vaulters & the beautiful Horsemeister Friesians. Both groups did awesome!
The main arena has some serious lighting issues when it comes to photography though. It's just one of those impossible situations where you need a fairly fast shutter speed because the subject is moving and because of the poor lighting a high ISO setting while trying to avoid noisy pictures. Also because of the low aperature setting to let in as much light as possible, the depth of field is fairly narrow so keeping the important things in focus is just plain tough! My best shots were in the practice arena where there was some natural light available, but I was still able to get a few keepers from the main arena. I keep telling Judy that white horses are easier to photograph but I guess white friesians are not to be found:)
Last week I had 2 mommys-to-be come in on the same day for some pictures. Both are expecting girls. Alaina is turning 3 & very excited to be a big sister and kept saying "these are the best pictures ever!" She was just so much fun to work with even though her mom had to wake her up to come into the studio.
I'm so excited to meet these new little girls:)
Beautiful shots, love the picture of Moses. Great job, thanks for going.
