this is the last thing i should be doing...

We're having a costume party for around 75 people tomorrow, so yeah, this is the last thing i have time for.

however, this morning was the first real frost so after getting the boys on the bus, and my morning walk and because i was already freezing, i grabbed my camera and the only lens i have w/a macro setting and shot these....

oh how i'm tempted to buy a true macro lens. i'm also thinking i'd like to get a few of these on gallery wrapped canvas to put on my walls. i love the colors of fall!

As far as work goes as of right this minute i am current w/all my clients, all sessions are edited and backed up and that's an awesome feeling!

I had to be at the grade school by 10:00 for Luke's costume parade....this is our last year for any of our kids to be in it because in 6th grade they don't dress up anymore:(.

Also there's early dismissal for them all and they'll be home by lunch. So my big plans of spending the whole day and home and getting everything sparkling clean isn't happening. Oh well, by the time you've got 75 people in costumes running around your house it's not like you could tell if it was clean anyway...right?

Jessica's 16!!!!

I know I haven't been keeping up the blog but today is a special day so I'd better write something. Today is my lovely daughter, Jessica's 16th birthday! She's still got about 20 practice hours to go before she can get her license and she can't wait.

Been very busy w/lots of seniors these past couple of weeks. Made 2 trips out to Brimfield High in the past 5 days because they are tearing the old school down to make way for the new one so some of the seniors wanted a few pics there.

Saturday we had a beautiful day to take Hannah & Ben's wedding pictures. This was the family of 70. My assistant, Kinga helped me and things went pretty smoothly, we got some truly great shots. They are being edited by Jenny but as soon as they're done I will post a couple.

So this past week I had sessions everyday and a wedding on Saturday...a little stressful, but that's fall for a photographer:)

We also have 6 baby kittens that were born on saturday so those of you who are looking for a cute free pet, call me in a couple of weeks so you can pick out your favorite. If we have any left we will be giving away a free kitten w/every sitting (my husband's idea:). I'll try to get a few shots of them also to put on my blog.

Kentucky

Here are a few pics from the World Equestrien Games where Jess and I were last weekend.

We had a great time watching such talented performers.

USA took 1st in the team vaulting so that was cool. My kids and their cousins have been involved in vaulting for about 4 years so when they had the opportunity to see this level of vaulting they were all pretty excited about it.

I also have had lots and lots of sessions and am in the process of editing them so hopefully I can get a few of those up on my blog in a couple of days. This week is booked solid and ends w/a wedding on Saturday w/the bride's family having about 70 people in it....should be exciting:)

but how do you see the pics???

Caleb is a senior this year and taking photography, which he isn't real excited about but his sister is absolutely thrilled! Jessica truly loves the art of photography, Caleb on the other hand was just looking for an elective class to fill a time slot.

He came home w/his film camera and first assignment of shooting 25 lanscapes. Jessica was so excited she asked if she could do it and of course he handed the camera right over w/out even blinking.

So off she went to shoot some landscapes, only to return and ask me "mom, how do I see the pictures?" I explained that it wasn't digital so you have to get the film developed. Then she says, "but mom, then how do you edit them then?" She just couldn't understand this whole "take a picture and NOT see it immediately" thing. She just couldn't wrap her mind around it.

The world of photography has changed so dramatically over the last 10-15 years. It makes me wonder what it will be like in another 10?
